Whitewater Trip Photo

2010 Trip Calendar

No matter which trip you choose, you can count on fun, connection, laughter, silence, peace, and natural beauty. All trips are designed to help you slow down, breathe the fresh air, and enjoy both solitude as well as the camaraderie of extraordinary women.

While most women come on Wild Institute trips on their own, some bring a sister, mother, partner, or friend.   What you don’t see listed on the trip calendar are the custom trips—those designed for groups of friends, families, work groups, etc.  This year, for example, we are running a whitewater weekend/birthday bash for a large group of friends; a week in the Boundary Waters for a family with kids, and another week in the Boundary Waters for a group of friends from a Martial Arts club.  To learn more about creating your own custom trip, click here.

Not every trip is offered every year.  If you have a dream trip/destination in mind and don’t see it on the calendar, it’s a great opportunity to design a custom trip or inquire as to when we’ll be offering it.  Chances are if we haven’t done the trip of your dreams, we know someone who has.

So whether you come on your own or bring a group, we look forward to adventuring with you. May we all have opportunities to feel at home in wild places…

2010 Winter Trips

Dogsledding
January 15-18, 2010
Northern Minnesota

Stay in a cozy bunkhouse with a woodstove. Meet a group of lively, friendly Alaskan Huskies. Learn to harness the dogs and drive the sled. Warm up in the rustic main lodge and listen to tales of their legends and lore…then head out snowshoeing or cross country skiing on a private network of trails. Relax in front of the wood stove, share the company of other adventurous women, cuddle a sled dog, enjoy an authentic Finnish sauna. Be sure to watch Faye Sierfert’s slide show from her dogsledding trip a couple years ago.
